Matt is a castaway on Survivor: Dearborn - Season 1, Survivor: Dearborn Fans vs Favorites, and Survivor: Dearborn Heroes vs Villains.
Matt is a true trailblazer in Survivor: Dearborn, and can be credited for elevating the game strategically. He was one of the first players cast in Season 1 and quickly cemented his the groundwork of his legacy on the purple tribe. He formed connections with everyone on his tribe, and helped lead his tribe to a dominant premerge - only going to tribal twice. In the merge, Matt worked with his strongest pre-game connection and former green tribe member Noah Welker to navigate his way through the game. Consequently, Matt found his Purple tribe numbers to be wiped out and was ultimately cut by his closest friend and ally at the Final Four.

In 2017, Matt returned as a member of the Favorites tribe to claim the title he felt robbed of the summer before. Immediately he drew lines in tribe, targeting the "Underclassmen" alliance and assembled an army to take out Cameron Godin. However, he bet on the wrong allies, and was sent home in 17th place due to a brutal idol play and botched split vote.

For Survivor: Dearborn's finale season, Matt returned as a Villain and began his path towards redemption. With a familiar "Upper" and "Under" classmen alliance face off brewing, Matt played the middle of his tribe until the Upperclassmen took the numbers. However a tribe swap placing him on the New Villains put him at a 6-3 numbers disadvantage. From here, his alliance was picked off by the former heroes until he remained. Ultimately, Matt's Survivor career ended being voted off in 15th place.

Matt returned on production for Survivor: Grand Rapids, helping out on the camera crew. His then fiancee and current wife Juliana Rizzo played in Season 5.

Why do you think you'll survive Survivor: Dearborn?: I think I'll survive because I've had to suffer through band camp. If I can make it through that, I can make it through this.
Why do you think you will be the Sole Survivor?: I have a well rounded knowledge of the show. Moderate athletic talent and a good social game that will ensure that I will outplay, outwit, and outlast.

How have you changed since the last time you played?: I’m bigger, I’m badder, and I’m more Bougie than ever before.
What skills do you bring to Survivor that will make you a useful member to the group and what skills have you been learning since you last played? I’m a pretty solid physical presence and will be able to organize my tribe. I’ve learned how to lie straight to people’s faces (Thanks Noah).
What are you most proud of from the last time you played? Successfully maneuvering my way to the final four and being the R.obbed G.oddess of Season 1

How have you changed since the last time you played?: I really don’t think I’ve changed much… besides being underrated as a player because I don’t want to be out early again.
Favorite Past Moment: Delano getting voted out in Season 2. It made the power alliance turn against each other.
What are you most proud of from the last time you played? In Season 3, I targeted the player who ended up winning the game.
What, if anything do you most regret? Not hanging onto the crossbars for the Final Immunity Challenge in Season 1. I could’ve beat Noah easy in that challenge AND Final Tribal Council.
How will you play differently this time? I will not go all out in the first five minutes and put a huge target on my back
